Workshop "Good Library Practices"

Bulgarian Information Consortium and the Library of Plovdiv University  "Paisiy Hilendarski" would host the seminar "Good practices" under the thematic frame: "LIBRARY INNOVATIONS – FROM IDEA TO IMPLEMENTATION"

 

The seminar aims to present innovation in library practice or introduce success stories of functional and useful novelties, e.g. new process, method, technique, practice, product or service. While our process in business is the implementation of ideas, presenting a profit, for libraries that "profit" can be expressed with terms such as "positive change" and "new value" for users.

 

The seminar takes place with the kind assistance of:

 

 

 

 

         

 

During the event, the publishing houses "Paradigm", "Janet 45" and the University Publishing House "Paisiy Hilendarski" would be exibited, where participants will be able to acquaint themselves with the latest and interesting editions in different areas of knowledge and perform discussions.

Second Workshop for 2011 "Good Library Practices": "Е-archives for e-science"

Bulgarian Information Consortium, the Library of the New Bulgarian University and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, BAS are kindly asking you to attend the second Workshop for 2011 "Good Library Practices" on: "Е-ARCHIVES FOR E-SCIENCE" with presentation or report.

 

The workshop would favor Bulgaria entering the International Open Access Week to scientific publications, which is planned for this year in the period from 24 to 30 Oct. (more on: "Open Access Week"). This is an opportunity to:

• get an overview of the global changes in scientific communications and join in global process;
• frame national politics for popularization of the new model to stimulate Bulgarian researchers to grant open access to their achievements;
• identify key players: universities, colleges, research institutes, financial agencies, libraries.
• discuss strategies on raising visibility of Bulgarian research and scientific publications and their reach over global research output.

 

We are expecting your preferred topics for presentations and papers (no more than 30 min. length) by 30. 09. 2011. The workshop venue is the Library of the New Bulgarian University, Sofia, on 24 October 2011.
